Fans of “The Young & the Restless” were on pins and needles waiting for Thursday's episode to air. Both Billy Miller and Michael Muhney would make their last “Y&R” appearances in this episode in their roles as Billy Abbott and Adam Newman. How did things play out on the Jan. 30 show?
During Thursday's episode, Billy continued to hold Adam at gunpoint as people throughout Genoa City pieced together Adam's connection to Delia's death. In the last moments, Adam drove as Billy detailed how he planned to make sure Newman never saw his son again. Adam didn't go down without a fight, though. He asked Billy who else might have been guilty in Delia's death, pointing out that she never should have been out there alone that night in the first place.
In the final moment of Thursday's episode, Adam reached for Billy's gun. As the two fought over it the car went off the side of the road. The gun fired a shot and the car with Adam and Billy plummeted off the road and over a cliff. What will happen to the two men? Fans are anxious for “The Young & the Restless” spoilers on this, but there are a couple of things they know for certain.
Despite the passionate protests of “Team Muhney” fans, Michael Muhney is no longer playing Adam Newman. This was his last episode, and it's been previously said that the character will be off the canvas for a few months. Will Adam be in a coma or otherwise hospitalized? Will he somehow manage to walk away from the car crash and disappear for a bit? Friday's show should detail where the show heads with this one for now.
As for Billy Abbott, Thursday was Billy Miller's last show as well. However, the character won't be off the canvas for long. David Tom resumes his portrayal of the character starting Monday, Feb. 3 according to She Knows. Fans of both Miller and Muhney are devastated by their exits, and Twitter is flooded with praise, goodbyes and calls for awards for both men.
Where will Billy Miller and Michael Muhney land next? That much isn't known yet in either case, but “Y&R” fans will be watching for updates. Many fans, particularly of Muhney's, have said they will stop watching the soap after Thursday's show. They are frustrated not only with Michael Muhney's firing, but of the direction the storylines have taken of late. Will their frustration lead to lower ratings for the show? Many “The Young & the Restless” fans will be watching closely to see what happens.
